The heart of our operation is our manufacturing facility in Livingston, Texas. Here, our drills and augers are crafted, assembled by specialists and carefully inspected at each step of production. Many of the fine-tuned parts that go into the makeup of our drills are manufactured at the plant itself, resulting in greatly reduced production costs and a better product for our customers.

Our History

1948
Newman Haynes founds Haynes Manufacturing in Livingston, Texas, after manufacturing a front-end mounted mowing machine for a tractor for clearing utility right of ways.
1953
Haynes Manufacturing introduces a tree girdler, known as a “Little Beaver,” whose safe, simple operation paved the way for the company’s hallmark one-man mechanical earth drill.
1960

Newman Haynes passes the company down to his son, B.R. Haynes. B.R. begins expanding into new markets, particularly the rental market. Throughout the sixties and seventies, he streamlines the manufacturing process, modernizes the company’s facilities and designs and increases equipment sales.

1975
Safe, one-man earth drilling is established with the industry’s first torque tube design, which transferred drilling torque away from the operator.
1979
Joe and John Haynes, sons of B.R. Haynes, take over Little Beaver. They begin incorporating modern technological advancements and develop the company’s revolutionary torque tube. They also expand the product line to include hydraulic models.
1998
Little Beaver purchases the Kwik-Trench line of earth saws.
2002
The Towable Hydraulic Earth Drill is introduced, one of the most powerful and versatile machines in its class.
2005
Little Beaver acquires the drill rig division of Lone Star Bit and begins expanding and enhancing the water well drill product line. Now known as Lone Star Drills, the company also develops soil sampling drill rigs and accessories to provide a full range of drilling equipment.
2018
The fourth generation of the Haynes family joins Little Beaver and is poised to make their mark on the earth drilling industry.
2023
Little Beaver celebrates its 75th anniversary as a company.
